EMF holds off the Thunderbirds

EMF played their final regular season home game Friday at 3 pm in Milligan.  The first quarter was nearly scoreless after EMF struggled with several fumbles. JCC capitalized on their mistakes finding the end zone with just 26 seconds left in the first quarter.  They also completed the two point conversion making in 0-8.  EMF finally got on the board with 5:44 left in the half when Schluter plowed in for eight points.  JCC added another touchdown but their pass conversion attempt went past the end zone.

Schluter caught a Tyler Due pass for a touch down and Spencer Eberspacher snagged the Due toss for a two point conversion making in 16-14 at the half.

JCC jumped back on the board just three minutes into the third quarter and found the end zone for six but couldn't complete the two point making it 16-20.  JCC also scored at the end of the third quarter making the home crowd very nervous as the score was 16-26.

The Bobcats came roaring back in the fourth quarter as Schluter scored another touchdown but the two point was not good.  After stopping the Thunderbirds on defense the Bobcats went on the prowl.

A pass interference on JCC was called at just the right time.  EMF was at 4th and 6 and that call gave the drive a new life.  Schluter was in for another six and the score was 28-26.

The EMF defense stepped up and stopped a JCC drive deep into Bobcat territory.  JCC turned the ball over on downs with just 40 seconds left in the game and the Bobcat's took a knee to complete the win.

EMF will travel to Wymore next week to play Southern on Thursday night in their final regular season game.
