Timberwolves Win Buzzer Beater at Home

With a tied score at half it was anyone's game.  With one minutes left in the game it was tied again and Heartland controlled the ball.  Their attempt at a final basket failed and with 16 seconds left the Timberwolves took over.  Zeleny passed the ball to Bossaller who sank a beautiful three for the buzzer beater win over Heartland.  The Timberwolves are now 4-0 on the season.

Christmas Fun for Kids

Knox Becker flashes his face art while he decorates a cookie at the Christmas Fun for Kids event.

The Exeter G.F.W.C. Woman’s Club spearheaded an amazing even for the Exeter area kids on Saturday morning.  All ages of children enjoyed the fun Christmas events during the morning.  Breakfast was served to the kids and their parents and then it was time to visit Santa, decorate cookies and get their faces painted.  Guests could also make ornaments, hear a Christmas story or color a picture.  Participants could bring in a gingerbread house for a decorating contest.  Also available was a Christmas gift store.  Each child could purchase a present for their mom and their dad for $1 each.  Members of the Woman’s club helped them wrap their gifts so they could go straight under the tree.  The St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cordova donated Christmas story books for the kids to choose from.  The event was sponsored by the Exeter G. F.W.C. Woman’s Club, Generations Bank, FCCLA (face painting), UCC Women, United Methodist Women, St. Stephen’s Altar Society, Exeter Post #218 American Legion Auxiliary and many others.
