Exeter-Milligan Update: Harvesting History
History Harvest Project
By Brian Murphy, Exeter-Milligan Social Studies
Instructor
Eight Exeter-Milligan High School students traveled to
the University of Nebraska at Kearney this fall to learn about the
"History Harvest" project that they do. E-M students learned about
recording information, scanning images, metadata, and photographing artifacts
from several UNK professors and graduate students. On December 14, E-M students went to the Exeter
Senior Center to scan images from local community members and begin their own
"History Harvest" project. The ultimate goal is to get a collection
of digital images available for people to enjoy and learn from online. Pictured
from left to right are: Trever Zelenka, E-M Language Arts Teacher Ms. Ashley
Stutzman, Clint Oldehoeft, Norm Yound, and Anna Sluka.

Exeter-Milligan Update: Third Grade
Third Grade
Happenings at Exeter-Milligan
By Laura
Steuben, E-M 3rd Grade Instructor
Our first
semester at E-M has come to a close. A lot was accomplished in the Third Grade
classroom this first semester. We recently completed a unit in Social Studies
and learned about holidays and traditions. The students learned about
ecosystems in Science. They have been working on sentence editing, parts of
speech, capitalization rules and noun and verb phrases in Language Arts. In the
picture below, students are writing sentences (yes, on their desks) during
Language Arts that have a series of noun phrases. We are looking forward to
more fun and learning opportunities in the upcoming semester!
