A Memorial Service for Richard will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021
at 11:00 a.m. at the Milligan Auditorium in Milligan, Nebraska. A
Committal of Ashes will take place at 9:00 a.m. in the Exeter Cemetery
prior to the Memorial Service.
A time of visitation will be
held in Milligan at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home-Kotas Chapel on
Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Milligan Fire Department or the Exeter-Milligan School Foundation.

Lori L. Ruhl-Walford, age 50, of Exeter, died at home on Saturday, June 25, 2011. She was born December 12, 1960 at Friend, Neb. to Gary and Delores (Rasmussen) Ruhl.
Kayla Becker, a College of St. Benedict student and Exeter native recently returned from a service and immersion trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar.

EM Graduate receives STAR Scholarship
Jaiden Papik, a 2020 graduate of Exeter-Milligan High School, was selected to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was recommended by P.E.O. Chapter AM of Fairmont. Carmen Sealock, a past president of Chapter AM, made the presentation.
Papik was on the the volleyball, basketball, and track and field teams; was president of the student council, her class, and the band; and is a member of National Honor Society. Jaiden also served as an officer in FFA and FCCLA and participated on the quiz bowl and trapshooting teams. She plans to major in secondary Spanish education.
The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada in the next academic year. The competitive STAR Scholarship is for women who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.
P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) has been celebrating women helping women reach for the stars for more than 150 years. Since its inception in 1869, the nonprofit organization has helped more than 116,000 women pursue educational goals by providing over $383 million in grants, scholarships, awards and loans. The Sisterhood also owns and supports Cottey College. Through membership, the P.E.O. Sisterhood has brought together more than a half a million women in the United States and Canada who are passionate about helping women advance through education, while supporting and motivating them. In addition to the educational philanthropies, the P.E.O. Sisterhood provides a framework of support and community for all members.
