Obituary Charles D. "Chuck" Warner

 Charles Duane “Chuck” Warner was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on February 27, 1943. He passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 8 days.


Chuck was raised around the Mead, Nebraska area. He graduated from Mead High School in May 1962. He joined the US Air Force on January 4, 1963 and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. His rank was A-3C. He wanted to make a career of the Air Force, but was injured and discharged on April 10, 1963.

Chuck attended Southeast Community College (SCC) in Milford, Nebraska. He received a diploma in May 1966 in drafting technology and an Associates of Applied Science in Drafting Technology in May 1976. Chuck completed a certificate for professional truck driving training from SCC in March 1989 and a certificate of completion for Smith Defensive Driving Theory in May 1990.

Chuck married Peggy Hopken of Bruning, Nebraska on March 24, 1973. They were blessed with one son, Todd. They lived in Lincoln for over forty years before moving to Exeter, Nebraska in 2015.

Chuck enjoyed sailboat racing, woodworking, hunting, camping, fishing, visiting with family and friends, but most of all spending time with his granddaughter, Katelin. He belonged to the American Legion, Heartland Runabouts and Rolling Turtles camping groups (Family Campers and RVers).

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Myles Warner Sr. and Rose (Classen) Warner; and his brothers Myles Warner Jr. and Leo Warner.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Exeter, Nebraska; son Todd (Jenny) of Lincoln, Nebraska; granddaughter, Katelin of Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers-in-law: Jerry (Carol) Hopken of Deshler, Nebraska and Allen Hopken of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law Shirley Robertson of Lincoln, Nebraska; as well as several nieces and nephews.
