Exeter-Milligan Graduate Joins Hasting Sympony Orchestra

Jordyn Brandt, a recent Exeter-Milligan graduate and Freshman music major at Hastings College, has been selected to perform flute with the Hastings Symphony Orchestra.  This year marks the 90th season for the symphony.  It is comprised of professional musicians from across the state, members of the music faculty at Hastings College, and a select group of talented Hastings College students.  The symphony is conducted by Dr. Byron Jensen, professor of music at Hastings College.
HSO performs six shows each season.  The first show of the season is free to attend and is being held at 3:00, on Sept. 13, at Chautauqua Park in Hastings. The concert will feature music performed from the symphony’s first season in honor of its 90th Anniversary. Season performances will be held on Oct. 25, Dec. 6, Feb. 28, and April 24 at the Masonic Center in Hastings. Tickets for individual performances are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors over age 60. Season tickets are $55 for adults and $50 for seniors. Students are admitted free. Tickets are available at hastingssymphony.com. For the last event of the season, two free daytime performances will be held for local school groups and two free evening performances will be held for the community, on April 29, at the Masonic Center
