St.
Stephen’s Altar Society met on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Parish Hall. There
were 14 members in attendance. The meeting opened with a prayer led by Father.
Minutes
were ready by Liz Zeleny, Secretary. There were no additions or corrections;
minutes stand as is. Joni Harre, Treasurer read the treasurer’s report.
There were
no committee reports. Correspondence was read in regard to the Matt Talbot Feeding
the Soul of the City fundraiser held on March 20. Peg Becker reported that the
recently held Blood Mobile was a success; the goal was to have 39 donators and
there were 38. Old Business discussed included the Mother/Daughter breakfast,
Senior Breakfast and CCD Teacher Honoring to be held on the same day; combine
the gatherings to be a Parish Celebration. Pat Koca made a motion we combine
the events and hold the celebration on May 4. Marilyn Rehm seconded the motion.
All were in favor, motion carried. Circles will be assigned later
New Business:
Discussion
was held on having a soup supper; it was decided to wait until fall to discuss
and/or host this type of event.
Exeter will
host the Deanery meeting on Saturday, May 17; there will be a mass and program.
Suggestions for a program were solicited. If anyone has a suggestion please
contact Agnes Anderson.
The list
for those who would like to donate a basket for the monthly raffle is on the
bulletin board in the church. A reminder will go into the weekly bulletin
asking for volunteers to sign up.
Discussion
in regard to Easter flowers was brought up. A variety of flowers may be
purchased from a local vendor.
Tables and
chairs from the Parish Hall will not be for rent for any purpose other than
utilizing for an event held at the Parish Hall.
Peg Becker gave
a presentation on Love Language.
Meeting was
closed with a prayer led by Father.
