Fifth Grade News
By Brooke Soukup, E-M 5th
grade Instructor
Exeter-Milligan’s 5th
grade class has been learning about our Earth. We discussed the rock cycle, the
different kinds of rocks, and then created our own rocks. We first laid
out our sediments, which were different colored starburst minis, and then
pushed them together to create our sedimentary rock. Next, I microwaved
our sedimentary rocks to show them changing into igneous rocks. Finally,
we made a second sedimentary rock and put heat and pressure on it to create our
metamorphic rock. The picture shows Kierra Papik and Landen Soice
creating and documenting their sedimentary rock.
