Fund Set up to help with Legion Repairs

The American Legion Home was purchased in Exeter by returning WWII and Korean War veterans in 1954.  This facility has served the community well, providing a place for family celebrations, funeral dinners, alumni activities, wedding receptions, Cub Scout and Boy Scout activities and many other opportunities.  The community of Exeter has supported keeping the Legion Home in good repair.

However, building maintenance does not take a holiday especially after last year’s violent weather.  The Legion Home’s roof was showing wear and it became apparent it would need extensive repairs.  Rather than patch several spots, which would have been a short term solution, the Legion members decided to cover the roof with a membrane to provide long term protection.

The roof repair was expensive but in order to serve the community for many more years it was essential.  A fund account has been established at Generations Bank for building maintenance and to finish payment of the roof repairs.
