Mrs. Kassik’s Kindergarten class at Exeter-Milligan is always busy. Every day the students start their day off with a few minutes to finish off their left over work from the prior day before they dive right into reading. After reading it’s time for Core 5 time. Each student fires up their Ipad, plugs in their headphones and spends some time practicing sounds, alphabet identification and sequencing. After the lunch the kindergarteners do calendar, math writing, social studies or science, handwriting and have a much deserved milk break (while Mrs. Kassik reads them a story). Once a week the students have Art and Library and three times a week they have PE and Music. In math right now the kindergarten class is working at covering designs using pattern blocks. In writing they have been gathering ideas to write about and words they could use to write about the Fall season.

After explaining how she started with caterpillars, Brooklyn let her classmates get an up close look at the butterflies. Starting from Brooklyn clockwise are Kaylie Schlueter, Cohen Harre and Sydney Engert.
