Exeter-Milligan-Friend FFA chapter held their end of year
banquet in the Exeter-Milligan gym on Wednesday, April 12.
Chapter President Shelby Lawver opened the meeting and was
assisted by other officers. Before the meal began Will Vynhalek led the
group in a prayer for the food.
During the meal service, a chapter slide show played
highlighting the officers, the competitions and activities the students had
experienced during the school year.
First on the recognition agenda was the awarding of the
degrees. There were multiple students who earned the Discovery, Greenhand and
Chapter degrees and four who received their State degree.
There were many students who participated in speech,
district and state competitions and they were all recognized and those who
earned plaques, certificates and awards were recognized.
The chapter also acknowledged several community members and
business who have made a significant contribution and commitment to the EMF FFA
program. Brandon Vossler, with Precision Seed and Chemical, Gretta
Stutzman, owner of Blue Blossom Floral and Gifts and Kenny Harre, with Harre
Seed and Service were all welcomed as honorary chapter members.
Shelby Lawver and Cade Kresak were presented with the
Chapter Star Farmers for this school year and the EMF FFA Boosters presented
five Exeter-Milligan and Friend Seniors with $750 scholarships including Daysan
Staskal, Shelby Lawver, Cade Kresak, Chase Svehla and Zoey Borgman.
The current officer team was recognized and it turn gave
special acknowledgement to their parents and thanked them for the
support. The seniors that were present hung up their jackets before
shaking the hands of advisors Amy Kohtz and Miranda Hornung. The seniors
also had the opportunity to say a few final words.
The officers for the 2023-2024 school year were announced
including Ella Archer, President, Zach Spohn, Vice-President, Abbie Milton,
Secretary, Will Vynhalek, Treasurer, Keila Ricenbaw, Reporter, Chase Paulsen,
Sentinel and Mikey Bartu, Parlimentarian.
