Fillmore County Relay for Life

Aloha!  It is time to shake out your grass skirt and get ready to join the 2016 Fillmore County Relay For Life.  The theme of this year is Re-Lei For a Cure.  The Executive Committee has been meeting since last year’s event and is ready to hula our way to finding a cure for that dreaded disease.

We are kicking off our season with a night, Saturday, April 9, at Lazy Horse Vineyard (211 Road 20, Ohiowa).  We will be there from 5:00PM – 8:00PM to meet and greet people while enjoying good food and handing out information about how to become involved.  Come anytime and see what we are about.

Can’t make that evening, but still want to wear that grass skirt?  There will be a golf tournament on June 5th, complete with prizes, luau-related games, and much more.  You can easily get on board for that by calling the Hidden Hills Country Club at 759-3084.

Of course, the biggest luau of the season will be on Saturday, July 30, at the Fillmore County Courthouse.  Much more information will follow – but now is the time to mark your calendar.

Putting together a Relay For Life takes a community willing to kokua (give help in Hawaiian).  The committee needs more people and teams who want to rid the world of cancer.  Please contact Kaela Lockhart (266-1038; kaela.lockhart@fillmorecentral.org) or Denice Kovanda (759-1431; dkovanda@emwolves.net) or visit our website:  http://relayforlife.org/fillmorecone

Aloha for now!
