Exeter-Milligan Update: Second Grade Writers

Second graders at Exeter-Milligan have been learning about writing using skills from 6 Trait Writing and Write Tools. Students have practiced these strategies in each of their assignments in writing class. This month, second graders have been writing stories about what they want to be when they grow up. These stories are being compiled and sent off for publishing. The families of these students have had the opportunity to purchase a hardbound copy entitled, When I Grow Up. The hard-bound copy will include each student’s writing and an illustration. A copy of the book will also be donated to the Exeter-Milligan Elementary library for future authors to check out and read. Once the published books arrive, students will have an author’s tea where they will read their selections. A book signing will follow.
