The Exeter-Milligan Foods and Nutrition class was able to enjoy their annual Thanksgiving meal.  Students were responsible for making every food item from scratch.  This event starts will research and looking for recipes, filling out market orders, calculating the cost of the food prepared by using current prices and a price sheet for smaller items, preparing the food over a 2 day period, setting up the tablescape, inviting two student guests, two teacher guests and an administrator.  The students and guests enjoyed:  Deep-fat fried turkey, citrus glazed ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans with lemon and toasted walnuts, cheddar biscuits, cornbread stuffing and ending the meal with homemade pumpkin and apple pies.  The students gained the knowledge of the need for preparation skills, recipe reading and following directions, manners and etiquette and through some research the history of the United States Thanksgiving.
