The teens sponsored by the utility were Broc Mueller of Exeter, son of John and Anita Mueller; and Rachel Mertz of McCool Junction, daughter of Roger and Mindy Mertz.

Camp activities included tours of Gerald Gentleman Station near Sutherland and Kingsley Hydroelectric Power Plant at Lake McConaughy, educational workshops and presentations by regional experts, canoeing, pole climbing, a banquet and dance.

The Nebraska Rural Electric Association is composed of 34 rural electric systems including Perennial Public Power District. Each electric system offers the opportunity for high school-aged students to attend Youth Energy Camp annually in an effort to educate Nebraska youth about the public power industry.
