The Exeter-Milligan Junior High Choir performed “Blowin’ in
the Wind/America” under the direction of Mrs. Angie Murphy at the Crossroads
Conference Junior High Vocal Clinic.
Local Junior High Students participated in the Crossroads
Conference Junior High Vocal Clinic held at Hampton High School on Monday,
February 3.
The Guest Clinician was Sheri Fraley who is a music
specialist at Elliot Elementary in the Lincoln Public School District.
Fraley graduated from Doane College and UNL were she
obtained her Master’s Degree. She has taught vocal and instrumental music
to all ages of students for 17 years.
Participating schools in the clinic were Cross County,
Dorchester, Exeter-Milligan, Giltner, Hampton, High Plains, McCool Junction,
Meridian, Osceola and Shickley.
The students spent the afternoon rehearsing both music and
technique with Fraley. The four numbers the combined choir performed were
“Ching a Ring Chaw,” “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning,” “Inscription of
Hope,” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
Four of the schools performed as individual choirs including
Hampton, Shickley and Giltner. Exeter-Milligan performed “Blowin’ in the
Wind/America.” Guests were invited to listen to the 5 p.m. performance.
Over 250 students participated in the Crossroads
