Obituary Tom Schiefelbein

Tom was born in Friend, Ne. October 21, 1961 to Myron and Maxine Schiefelbein. He
passed away in Lincoln, Ne. following an accident in York, Ne. July 30, 2009. Tom was
the youngest of three children, Dan the oldest and Nancy.
Tom grew up in Friend but did attend High School in Exeter, Ne. after the family
moved there in 1976. He graduated in 1980 then attended Central Community College in
Hastings where he lived and worked.

In 1987 Tom married Patty Little. Patty and her daughter Michelle joined Tom to
live in Exeter. They had a daughter Natasha born in 1987. Natasha passed away after a
15 month battle with leukemia at the age of 17 months. Tom worked at Champion
Homes in York for 10 years before joining Hamilton-Sunstrand of York 12 years ago.
He worked at Sunstrand as a machinist. Tom has resided in York since his divorce in
2007.

Tom shared his life with Karna Latham and her daughters Ivory, Olinda, and
Meredith. Karna’s son Sheppard lives in Tennessee.

Tom loved the great outdoors as he enjoyed both bow and rifle hunting. He loved
music and attended concerts avidly. Tom enjoyed being the photographer behind the
camera but most of the photos he is in include pets which he loved dearly. Tom was a
master craftsman who recycled and fixed just about anything. He never missed a Husker
photo day.

He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Natasha Kaye and his faithful
dog Jake.

His survivors include parents Maxine and Myron Schiefelbein, Exeter, brother
Dan and his wife Darla, (Columbus) their children, Adam,(Alma) Erin and her husband
Jeff Eickhoff. (Albion), sister, Nancy, her husband Roger their and children Jack and
Joseph of Lincoln.

Funeral services were conducted from the United Church of Christ in Exeter, Nebraska
on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 with Pastor Michael Becker officiating. Diane Hanson
accompanied the congregation who sang “Amazing Grace” and “On Eagles Wings.”
Recorded selections were “You Are Not Alone” and “Beautiful Day.” Casket bearers
were Jack Schiefelbein, Todd Schiefelbein, Jim Gibbs, Gary Bladder, Jesse Eberhardt
and Tony Kreifels. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery with Farmer Funeral Home in
charge of the arrangements. Memorials are directed to the family.
