Ag Ed News at Exeter-Milligan

The 7th-grade exploratory agriculture class just wrapped up their Animal Unit by putting all the pieces together in a puzzle-style format to showcase proper care techniques for an animal of their choice. Pictured is Gracelyn Becker with her puzzle of a Birman Cat.

 

The freshmen in the Introduction to Agriculture class have been learning about common breeds of livestock, the major body systems in animals, and the basics of reproduction and genetics.

 

Plant Science class is conducting experiments using corn seeds to test multiple variables regarding light, temperature, and moisture and write research lab reports.

 

Agribusiness class is deep into the financials unit, learning to utilize income statements and balance sheets to assess the health of a business and create strategies to improve it.

 

The introduction to welding class is working on creating lap joints and T-joints using the stick welding process, while the SENCAP welding class is working on a multi-pass T-joint and whip pad.

 

Animal science class just started their animal products unit where they will cover dairy, pork, poultry, and beef products from start to finish and round out the unit with a field trip to McLean Beef processing facility in York.
