York News Time All-Area Football Team slated James Sluka as one of the Co-Captains.  Other team members include Nolan White, and Kyle Jensen.  Garrett Pribyl and Derek Luzum were given an honorable mention.

 

Exeter-Milligan hosted High Plains Friday night in a battle on the boards.   The final score for the girls was 42-38 with the Timberwolves beating the buzzer. The boys team fell just short, losing 58-60.

 

Title I Reading - The second graders have been learning about the different parts of writing letters.  They have written letters to their pen pals in Friend and to Santa.  I have worked with the Title I students on coming up with ideas, helping with spelling/reversals, and the correct form for letter writing.  They know the parts of a letter with using visuals that Mrs. Weber has taught them.  The first graders have been working on practicing reading out of their Reading Mastery book as well as spelling words that they have been missing.   Some letter formation has also been worked on during our Title I time.  A  Ziploc bag filled with hair gel, dye, and glitter was used to “draw” on the bag so they "feel" and "see" the letter that they have made

 

Exeter-Milligan Jr and Sr High vocal and band students performed a Christmas program on Tuesday, December 10th.

 

The Junior High Choir began the night with “Somewhere in My Memory” and “Christmas. . .In About Three Minutes”  before the band gathered their instruments and treated the crowd to “Jingle-Bell Rock” and “Winter Wonderland.”

During the evening, guests were also treated to an art show with all of the seventh through 12 grade students artwork in the small gym.

 

The Exeter United Methodist Church hosted a community Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 7th.  Everyone was invited to take some time to share their lists with Santa and have their picture made.  After getting a copy of their picture, a goodie bag and a stuffed animal they were invited downstairs for eggs, sausage and toast.
