EMF defeats Southern, gears up for playoffs

EMF vs Southern

EMF travelled to Wymore to meet Southern for a Thursday evening game to give them a full week to prepare for playoffs.  Before the game started there were sprinkles but it cleared up just in time for kick off.  

It didn't take long for the Bobcats to start pounding on the Raiders.  After kicking off to the Raiders the Bobcat defense held them to just three and out.  EMF took the ball and ran. With 8:08 left in the first quarter Brecken Schluter found the end zone making the score 6-0.  

On the next Bobcat possession Tyler Due kept the ball and added a touchdown and a toss to Draven Payne for a two point conversion.  14-0 with 2:54 left in the first quarter. Bobcat senior Schluter had one more touchdown left in him the first quarter with :52 seconds left he scored and Due snuck across the line for the two point making it 22-0.

Just two minutes into the second quarter, Mikey Bartu found paydirt as he broke through the Raider defense for a touchdown.  Due kept the two point and crossed into the end zone 30-0.

The Raiders couldn't catch a break as Schluter intercepted their pass and ran down to within five yards. Draven Payne carried the ball in for six but the two point attempt failed. 36-0

Aidan Vavra recovered a Raider fumble and Schluter capitalized on the Southern mistake running in for six and catching the two point toss from Due to make it 44-0.  The Raiders did find the end zone before the end of the half making it 44-8 but as the halftime show warmed up so did the lightning.  With storms all around the game was officially called at half.
