Exeter Cub Scout Pack 218 attended the Scout Night at the Lincoln Stars Hockey game Friday night.  The Stars hosted Sioux Falls Stampede but lost 4 – 1.  It was poster night so the scouts that came early enough were able to get free posters.  After the game was over the Scouts in uniform were invited on to the ice for an exclusive autograph session.

Mr. Brian Murphy's classes have been busy doing a variety of activities this semester.  Eighth grade American History is just starting to produce a digital newspaper about westward expansion.  High School American History is entering a unit on U.S. involvement in World War II.  The Post World War II History class has been investigating the 1960s.  In freshman World Geography, students prepared travel brochures for U.S. regions or states.  This semester, there is a map quiz each week over different regions, countries, cities, and landforms of the world.

The Math Matters 2 Class at Exeter-Milligan is beginning a unit on Geometry.  The class, under the tutelage of Mary Kay Pribyl, is currently learning basic definitions and properties.

Exeter-Milligan hosted a junior high basketball tournament this weekend with three other teams participating.

The Meridian Mustangs girls met the Exeter-Milligan girls to start the tournament with Exeter-Milligan coming out on top 34-11.  The Exeter-Milligan boys team then defeated Meridian 29-13.

The next two teams in the bracket were The Friend Lady Bulldogs who handed the Bruning Davenport Shickley girls a berth in the consolation match up with a win of 37-10.

Boys were up next with Class C-1 Central City taking over the court defeating Friend 46-17.

The consolation matchup between the girls, BDS and Meridian, found BDS on top.

Next up were the Friend boys and the Meridian Mustangs in the consolation bracket.  Friend won the game.

The girls championship matched Highway 6 rivals, Friend and Exeter-Milligan with Friend coming in first winning 30-24.  Exeter-Milligan got within five points during the third quarter but Friend held onto their lead bringing home the first place trophy.

The Exeter-Milligan boys fought hard in the boys champion bracket but were unable to overcome the Central City Bison, losing by a score of 64-23.

FILLMORE COUNTY - The Odegeo…Leadership for Fillmore County class held their Health and Human Services session beginning at the Fillmore County Hospital. They toured the hospital and had speakers ranging from the Geneva Rescue Squad to Fitness information.  They also toured nursing homes in the county and finished at Farmer and Son Funeral Home.

The 5th graders at Exeter-Milligan are currently in their Social Studies unit. We have been learning about the United States Constitution and the many freedoms that, we as citizens, have. We have discussed the meaning of the motto E pluribus unum and how it stands for “Out of many, one.” Even though this motto came about when there were only 13 states, it still applies to our united country today
