Margaret
Ann (Allwelt) Stevens was born November 16, 1940 in Exeter, Nebraska to
Aloyius and Margaret (Harre) Allwelt and passed away on March 6, 2021
at Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 3 months
and 20 days. She received her education from Catholic grade school and
Exeter High School. Graduating with the class of 1958.
On
December 23, 1958 Margaret was united in marriage to James L. Stevens
Sr. in Lincoln, Illinois. They made their home in Exeter, Nebraska for
the past 62 years.
Margaret worked many years as a nursing assistant at Fairview Manor, Exeter Care Center and Anna Sundermann Care Center.
After retirement Margaret went to Texas to be a nanny for her
great-grandchild, KayLee and Tucker Hood. Margaret enjoyed spending time
with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the joy of
her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James L.
Stevens Sr., Exeter, Nebraska; one son, James L. Stevens Jr. (Michelle
Potter) York, NE; four daughters, Veronica Manson of McCool Junction,
Nebraska, Alice Williams of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mary (Wayne) Kenney of
Friend, Nebraska, and Stephanie (Terry O.) Salyer of McCool Junction,
Nebraska; one sister, Mary J. Kai of Colorado Springs, Colorado; fifteen
grandchildren: James (Nicole) Critel of Springfield, Nebraska, Marcus
(Ashley) Potter of York Nebraska, Thomas Jones of Hastings, Nebraska,
Mike Jones of York, Nebraska, Christopher Hankel of Exeter, Nebraska,
Mary-Beth Manson of McCool Junction, Nebraska, Jessica (Steve) Shiverley
of Loveland, Colorado, Brittany (Travis) Sterns of Benedict, Nebraska,
Brian Williams of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jennifer (Chad) Duncan of Lincoln,
Nebraska, Bobbie Jo (Dr. Bill) Daliey of Clinton, Missouri, Travis
Kenney of Friend, Nebraska., Lacey Hood (Jason) of Fort Polk, Louisiana,
Megan (Ty) Kennedy of McCool Junction, Nebraska, Terry A. Salyer of
Geneva, Nebraska, and 32 great-grandchildren. As well as nieces and
nephews and extended family and friends.
Margaret was preceded
in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, sister, Delores
Tubbs and brother-in-law, Gerald Kai.
