Obiturary: Sandra S. "Sandi" Snyder

Sandra “Sandi” Sue Snyder was born to Louis Carl and Marilyn Iona (Heath) Domeier on February 10, 1963, in Geneva, NE, and passed away June 18, 2026, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, NE, at the age of 63. She was one of five children in the family.

Sandi attended Geneva Public Schools and graduated in 1981. She attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and graduated with a degree in Mathematics Education in 1985. She married Michael Snyder on May 18, 1985, and raised two sons, Mitch and Grant. She taught at Geneva Public Schools, Filley Public Schools, and spent the majority of her teaching career at Shickley Public Schools for over 30 years. Upon retirement, she decided to remain substituting at many area high schools. She continued to tutor and help students during her treatment over the past year. Her family often said that she loved her students as her own.

In her spare time, she loved all things Harry Potter, gardening, pi, and Winnie the Pooh. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, Bowen, Ridge, and Dayne, spoiling them and loving them unconditionally. She also enjoyed traveling to Europe multiple times and spent a great amount of time at Lovewell with her family and friends. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Treasurer for the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, and her local book club.

Sandi was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Marilyn Domeier; her in-laws, Dean and Donna Snyder; her sister, Virginia Domeier; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Snyder of Geneva, NE; sons, Mitch Snyder of Lincoln, NE; and Grant (Alison) Snyder of York, NE; brothers, Dave Domeier of Friend, NE; and Jim (Sally) Domeier of Ord, NE; sister, Mary Mead of Elkhorn, NE; brothers-in-law, Scott (Denise) Snyder of Phoenix, AZ; and Brian Snyder of Phoenix, AZ; sisters-in-law, Theresa (Tom) Koehn of Lincoln, NE; and Stacey (Merlin) Peters of York, NE; and three grandchildren, Bowen, Ridge, and Dayne Snyder.

Death Notice: Sandra S. Snyder

 A Funeral Service for Sandi will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Geneva, Nebraska, with Kim Dunker presiding.


Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with family present from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska.

Graveside Services will be conducted following the funeral service at the Geneva Public Cemetery in Geneva, Nebraska.

In honor of the family's wishes, memorials are preferred instead of flowers or plants. In place of flowers, memorials are to be directed to the family to be designated to a future scholarship in Sandi's name for area students to further their education.
