EMF Volleyball Downs Osceola in Exeter

 

EMF hosted senior night/parents night at home in Exeter on Tuesday.  It was also a pink out recognizing those who have fought cancer or are fighting.  The Lady Bobcats beat Osceola 3-1.

 A Memorial Service for Larry will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Farmer Funeral Home in Exeter, Nebraska with Kim Dunker presiding.

No Visitation - Cremation.

Graveside Services will take place at the Exeter Cemetery in Exeter, Nebraska following the Memorial Service.

Mr. Jordan Marr’s 7th grade history class at Exeter-Milligan is currently studying about the lifestyle and cultures of early humans.  For this lesson, the students learned about the importance of cave paintings and how humans today have transformed this type of expression into murals.  Each student created a mural drawing depicting an idea associated with Exeter-Milligan schools.

 

The Exeter-Milligan 4th Graders attended Ag-Venture Day at the Fillmore County Fairgrounds in Geneva on September 9^th. They learned all about agriculture and how it affects our life on a daily basis. They also had the chance to meet a farmer as we went through the lunch line. Class members are Rebecca Krupicka, Braden Capek, Kole Svec, Alec Schlueter, Peyton Pribyl, Christopher Kelch, Ben Bartu, Briana Capek, Cameran Jansky, Emma Olsen, Casey Underwood, Kiah Songster, Katelyn Babula, and Wesley Ronne.

 

The Timberwolves defeated Johnson-Brock 76-14 Friday night in their Homecoming game.

 

Exeter-Milligan Schools hosted the Remember Our Fallen exhibit in the Exeter site small gymnasium during the week of September 30 to October 4. This is a touring photo display honoring the Nebraska military who have died from wounds suffered in the war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan since September 11, 2001. Generations Bank of Exeter is sponsoring the exhibit. 

EMF Football Pummels Panthers in Palmyra

Final score was 68-12 with a ton of Bobcats in the scoring bracket.  Although Palmyra got onto the scoreboard early in the first quarter that was the last time they would see the end zone until late in the fourth quarter.  They were plagued by injuries and a tough, physical Bobcat team.  EMF capitalized on multiple fumbles by the Panthers and several interceptions.  EMF will be back at home in Friend on Friday night against Thayer Central.

 

EMF Dominates at Tri with Aquinas and East Butler

EMF took Aquinas in three sets and East Butler in two sets Tuesday night in Friend.

 

EMF Volleyball team loses close one in Exeter

The EMF Lady Bobcats stuck to Sutton like glue trading scores back and forth but they just couldn't make a win stick.  Sutton took the first set 19-25, the second set was Bobcats 25-23, Sutton went on to win the third and fourth set 21-25 and 19-25.

This last Sunday was Grandparent’s Day and the Exeter-Milligan First Graders wanted to make sure their grandparents felt appreciated.

 

With a packed cafeteria, the first grade performed several songs and two plays that they had practiced for weeks.

 

The students split into two groups and part of the class performed “The Little Red Hen.”  The students did an excellent job telling the story of all of the work the little red hen despite the laziness of her friends. 

The second group of students performed “Three Billy Goats Gruff,” who encountered a mean troll on their way to greener pastures.

 

After several more songs, the students served their grandparents and guests cookies they had made and drinks.  They also presented their grandparents with some specially made gifts.

 

After giving their grandparents a tour of the classroom, having their picture taken together and a class photo the school day was over for the first graders.

 

Exeter-Milligan Kindergarteners this year were Ronnie Babula, Trevin Ronne, Avery Nichols, Jonah Geiger, Kaydence Haase, Selah Petersen, Brett Kallhoff., Katherine Hale, Kiley Oldehoeft, Logan Krupicka, Alexis Saatman andTucker Svec.

 

Exeter Care Center hosted Jazz on the Green on Wednesday, September 11 on the lawn around the gazebo at the care center.  Tim Javorsky was the jazz artist who presented the entertainment for the event and the care center provided a supper of hotdogs, chips and cookies.  The also brought in a bounce house for the kids to enjoy.  Cooler temperatures made for a beautiful evening to enjoy some great music.

 

Elfreida Jensen was the winner of the quilt raffle that the Exeter Care Center held.  Elfreida also happened to be the one who did all the beautiful embroidery work on the quilt.

Schluter Tops 5000 Yards

EMF Bobcat Breckan Schluter was recognized Friday night after the game for 5000 career rushing yards.  He is just one of 60 in the state of Nebraska in the last 65 years (since records were kept) who have achieved that number.

 

EMF Demolishes Freeman in Homecoming Football Win

EMF Bobcats took on Freeman in Milligan Friday night for Homecoming.  Last year the two teams met in Adams and it was a touchdown blowout.  This year, however, was a completely different story.  The Falcons only put on six points in the whole game.  EMF had a running clock the entire second half.  Breckan Schluter scored four touchdowns and didn't see much action in the second half.  Draven Payne scored three touchdowns for the Bobcats with Tyler Due scoring several of the two point converstions.  Spencer Eberspacher grabbed a Due pass for a two point converstion as well. Hunter Svehla ran the ball in during the fourth quarter to top off the scoring.  Final was 60-6

Next week EMF travels to Palmyra.
