Exeter-Milligan Update: Elementary Music Program

 The Exeter-Milligan third and fourth grade classes sang John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" at their concert on March 27.

 The Exeter-Milligan fifth and sixth grade classes enjoyed singing "I Believe I Can Fly," made famous in the movie "Space Jam."

Exeter-Milligan Update: Construction Class

Exeter-Milligan Update: Junior High and High School PE

Junior High:  On March 29th, the Girls Junior High Track team competed in the Friend Invitational track meet.  The girls finished in 8th place out of 12 teams with 22 points.  Marissa Howard was the leading scorer with all 22 points.  She placed 1st in the High Jump with a jump of 4’6”, 4th in the 100 (14.25), 4th in the 200 (29.51), and 4th in the 400 (69.31). 

On April 3rd, E-M hosted their own invitational, which was held at McCool Junction.  The girls finished in 3rd place with 67 points behind BDS with 127 and Hampton with 98.  Scoring for the Timberwolves: Marissa Howard (36 pts) finished 1st in the High Jump (4’6) and the 200 (29.69), and 2nd in the 100 (13.98) and the 400 (68.16); Sydney Hall (17 pts) finished 2nd in the 800 (3:00.57) and the 1200 (4:44.15); Hailey Luzum (10 pts) finished 3rd in the 200 Hurdles (35.9), 5th in the long jump (11’9. 5), and 6th in the 100H (20.3); Samantha Horne (3 pts) finished 5th in the shot put (27’8).  The 1600m Relay team consisting of Sydney Hall, Hailey Luzum, Samantha Horne, and Bailey Steuben finished 4th with a time of 5:22.

The girls will compete again on Thursday, April 12 at the Hampton Invitational in McCool Junction.  The meet begins at 9am.

Exeter-Milligan Update: Elementary PE Department

K-2nd:  On February 29th, 45 elementary students at the Exeter site participated in a Jump Rope for Heart Event.  The event is designed to help instill healthy habits in students today, to ensure longer, healthier lives for them tomorrow.

Troy Kallhoff was the top fundraiser at Exeter-Milligan Elementary.  He raised an amazing $320 in honor and memory of his Grandpa Willy Ekeler.  Fifteen students raised $1399.91 that will help in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Funds raised from the event are used to support American Heart Association research and education initiatives that save lives in our community.
